Main Screen The main screen acts as a central point for displaying information and provides a base for running the ClockWatch System. Visible from the main screen are recent settings, the time of the next setting, the results from previous settings, and the graphs of setting activity.
Set Time button Begins a time setting attempt immediately. Options button Opens the Settings tab of the options screen. Arrange button Changes how the graphs are displayed in the order listed in the Windows menu. Exit button Ends program after prompting to save any options changes for this session.
Menus on the Main Screen File Menu Set Time Attempts time setting using current options. Client Log (CW Server) Prints a report of all users (clients) accessing the ClockWatch Server, reporting on the IP address, number of accesses and the last access time of each of the clients accessing the server. Totals are also shown since ClockWatch Server was last started. The Client Log file is available in the main ClockWatch program directory, under the name ClientLog.txt. Register CW Service (CW Server, Client 2000) Registers ClockWatch as a service under Windows NT. Once registered, the service can be started using the NT Service manager. As a true NT service, CW has full Client and Server capabilities. All the regular ClockWatch options can be set for the service module using the main ClockWatch interface. When running, the service executable, CWSrvc.exe regularly checks for a change in options or settings. Exit Exits ClockWatch. Closes log file. If options were changed asks if changes should be saved.
Options Menu Options Panels (Clock Setting, Display, Server, Logging, Graph) Opens the tab selected in the Options Screen Direct Modem Connection Opens the direct modem connection configuration screen. Auto-Dial ISP Opens the auto-dial Internet service option configuration screen. Client Ready (CW Server) Used to toggle the server listening for ClockWatch Clients on or off. When enabled, ClockWatch server is available to fulfill time requests from ClockWatch Clients. If ClockWatch Client is installed on workstations and client communication is expected then this option should be checked. If no client communication is anticipated, leave this option off (unchecked).
