Initial Setup

I don't see anything on the GPS test screen
nothing shows in the data window

• Did you initialize the receiver in the setup screen?
• Did you check the power and computer connections?
• Did you check the COM port your using (COM1, COM2, etc)
• Have you pressed the 'Open' button on the test screen?

I can see raw data but I don't see any satellites on the test screen
data is streaming out but I can't see any satellites in the list

• Press the "Show All" button on the test screen

I don't get valid data on the test screen
none of the fields (date, time, latitude, longitude etc) are correct

• To receive valid data the GPS receiver must be fixed in position. This takes reception from 3 ore more satellites with a strength greater than 0.

Will Star Sync software work with my own GPS receiver?

Running Star Sync

Can't get time from the receiver
the software is running, but it won't set the clock

• The GPS receiver has not yet fixed it's position
• The receiver location is not getting good reception. Try a different location.
• Receiver cannot currently track enough satellites. Open up the test screen to check on satellite reception.

Display says "Validating satellites" for a long time
I have been running the software for awhile

• Receiver can't "see" enough satellites to fix its position
• Reception a this location is marginal for certain hours of the day.

I'm having problems in running Star Sync as a time server
I'm trying to access the Star Sync server from other computers (clients)
